This airplane has always been my favourite, and I was happy indeed to find it
on Internet in late August and be able to fly it in FS5.1. However, the model
had obvious flaws, such as absence of navlights and blinkers (easy to get a
rocket fired upon while flying over a NATO state), no night cabin lights,
painting scheme was not that I was used to see on Tu-144. When I started on
repainting the aircraft (thank you, Dan, for including AFX into the bundle)
I discovered that I'd have to cut the fuselage into 3 sections to make livery
application better, and it in turn pulled behind a need for other alterations.
This is not a final version of my Tu-144, as there are still some enhancements
to be done, I hope to finish it in the near future. Maybe I will redesign it
myself from zero point because I still don't like the bottom view (engine
nacelles float and bleed through one another), and probably the remake would be
the best cure. Anyway, I want to make another Tu-144, the original experimental
68001 which took off at 21:45 December 31, 1968 and cruised over Moscow by New
Year night. This plane is from 1972-74 production batch, and these are just two
different planes.
As with all my models, this plane's livery was optimized for use with EM_PALET
by Eric Mitchell,mitchell@mars.ark.com, available at IUP.
Enjoy!
